How to access your Profitroom account

This guide walks step by step through signing in to the Profitroom platform, locating your API credentials and restoring access when you get locked out. The instructions cover both signing in from Profitroomshop and the most common issues property administrators run into.

Note: Profitroomshop is an independent third-party service and is not affiliated with Profitroom S.A. This guide describes the general procedure based on publicly documented information. Menu labels and exact paths can vary depending on your Profitroom plan, the installed release and your property configuration. When in doubt, contact Profitroom support directly.

How to sign in to your Profitroom account

Follow these six steps to open your Profitroom workspace, retrieve your API credentials and trigger the first sync with your Profitroomshop modules.

Step 1 — Open the Profitroom sign-in URL

Go to the URL provided by Profitroom during your property onboarding. It usually takes the form https://[yourhotel].profitroom.com or https://app.profitroom.com/[yourhotel]. If you cannot find it, the onboarding email sent by Profitroom includes it. Open the page in an up-to-date browser (Chrome, Firefox or Edge) to avoid stale-certificate blocks.

Step 2 — Enter your administrator credentials

Enter your Profitroom username (typically the professional email address attached to the property) and the password you set at account creation. If two-factor authentication is enabled on your account, have your authenticator app or SMS code ready before submitting. Profitroomshop has no access to your Profitroom password or 2FA codes.

Step 3 — Open the Administration module

Once signed in, open the Administration or Settings menu depending on your release. Depending on the Profitroom release deployed on your account, the path may be: Administration → Integrations → API access, Settings → External integrations → Developer API, or Configuration → API → Generate credentials. If no API entry is visible, your profile does not hold the required permissions — ask the primary administrator for your property to grant them.

Step 4 — Generate or retrieve your API key

In the API access section, click "Generate a new key" or view the existing key. Copy the full key and the associated endpoint URL immediately: most Profitroom releases display the key only once. Store both values in a company password manager, never in a shared plain-text file.

Step 5 — Paste the credentials into Profitroomshop

Open your Profitroomshop Client Area, go to Settings → Connected Profitroom account, and paste the API key and endpoint URL into the corresponding fields. Click "Test connection": Profitroomshop calls the Profitroom API and displays the property name, room types and detected permissions. This step does not modify any data inside Profitroom yet.

Step 6 — Activate modules and monitor connectivity

Once the connection is validated, activate the modules you need one by one — Direct Booking Widget, Airbnb & Vrbo Sync, Cross-Sell Add-Ons, and so on — from the Profitroomshop catalogue. The dashboard displays the state of the Profitroom link at all times and emails you if the sync is interrupted. Review permissions once per quarter to guarantee data flow continuity.

Common issues

The following five issues account for most support enquiries received by the Profitroomshop team. Try the matching remedy before opening a ticket.

Forgotten password

Use the "Forgotten password" link on the Profitroom sign-in page. A reset email is sent to the address linked to your administrator profile. If the email does not arrive within 15 minutes, check the spam folder and confirm with your IT team that no filter is blocking the Profitroom sender domain. Profitroomshop cannot reset a Profitroom password on your behalf.

API key not found

If the "API" entry does not appear in the Administration menu, your Profitroom plan most likely does not include API access. Contact your Profitroom account manager to confirm plan eligibility. Another frequent cause: the key was generated by a different administrator and was never shared. Generate a new one and revoke the old one to keep the audit trail clean.

Insufficient permissions

A "permission denied" error during the connection test means your key does not include every required scope. For most Profitroomshop modules you must enable at minimum: Read reservations, Read rates, Write rates, Read guest profiles and Write guest profiles. The Advanced Analytics & BI Dashboard additionally requires read access to night-audit data. Edit the key inside Profitroom to add the missing scopes, then rerun the test.

Session expired

Profitroom automatically logs out inactive sessions after 30 minutes. If you are redirected to the sign-in screen mid-configuration, sign back in and resume at Step 3: any unsaved changes will be lost. For long-running operations (room mapping, rate plan imports), prepare all your data in advance and save regularly to avoid losing work.

2FA lockout

If you have changed phones or lost access to your authenticator app, Profitroom requires a manual reset by its support team. Prepare your Profitroom property identifier and photo ID of the person attached to the administrator account. Reset takes 24 to 48 working hours on average — do not disable 2FA permanently, as it remains your best protection against credential theft.
